My name is Kevin L. Blake. AKA Bandit. I am the Founder of Flag Poles Honoring Our Veterans. I started this 501c3 nonprofit group in March of 2020. Our goal is to grow and touch other Veterans around the country. We work strictly by donations to purchase the flagpoles, concrete, solar lights and American made flags. And all the work is done by very gracious volunteers we like to call “The Red White & Blue Crew”. Some would think that just a flagpole in their yard is not much. But to our Veterans it means the world to them. They fought, drop tears & sweated for that flag. It’s our small way of saying Thank You for all you did to protect our freedom.
My name is Ginger Blake, aka Booger.
I am the Co-Founder & Secretary for Flagpoles Honoring our Veterans. I am beyond proud to be a part of FPHOV & wholeheartedly believe in our mission. Every Veteran should have a flagpole in their yard & it is truly our honor to provide one for them. Every time we install a flagpole I can’t help but tear up a little & smile from ear to ear as I watch the Veteran get emotional receiving their flagpole & flag. Our goal is to touch as many Veterans as we can & let them know we greatly appreciate their sacrifice & service for our freedom!
I started within this group as a volunteer. It didn’t take long until I felt a strong desire to continue volunteering. I wanted to see the group grow. Spending 25 years in the Army came with many duties. One of those was presenting our nations colors to the widows and children of fallen servicemen and women. This group allows me to give back in a different way. Rather than seeing family members weep in sadness I get to see tears of joy when the colors are presented to them.
Being a true patriot, I have found a true meaning in Flagpoles Honoring our Veterans. Being able to bring honor to our Veterans who have given so much, to defend our country, is nothing compared to what each of them sacrificed. It is an honor and a privilege to give a small token of appreciation. I have found a family in FPHOV. A family that has the same love and respect for our Veterans.
